logoDear Schodack Alumni, Parents and Friends,
It is hard to believe that it has only been a few short years since the Schodack Campership Initiative, Inc. (SCI) was founded. What began as an inspired idea during a Camp Schodack reunion in 2006 has grown into a successful 501(c)(3) non-profit charity, supporting economically disadvantaged children and promoting a diverse community at Camp Schodack.

2009 WAS A BANNER YEAR FOR SCI
SCI proudly funded its first two scholarships for the summer of 2009. The 2009 scholarship recipients, in accordance with SCI's endowment mission and goals, will have an opportunity to return to Schodack next summer, and in their camperyears that follow.

In April 2009, SCI hosted a charity fundraiser at the Intrepid Sea, Air and Space Museum. The event brought together alumni, current camper families and Schodack staff members for a memorable day, complete with interactive games, raffles and a successful auction.

In July 2009, SCI held the inaugural Mark Offitzer Cup memorial charity softball tournament during Camp Schodack's Alumni Weekend. The weekend was a tremendous success. Whether it was at the BBQ on Saturday night or the softball tournament on Sunday, Camp Schodack alumni from all generations had the opportunity to return to camp and reunite with long lost bunkmates and friends.

WITH YOUR HELP 2010 WILL BE AN EVEN BIGGER YEAR FOR SCI
SCI has accomplished a number of goals over the past several years. Yet, numerous challenges remain. In order to achieve our goals and sustain SCI's charitable endowment further help is needed.
As outlined on the pledge card, donations can be made to SCI by check or by credit card (through direct invoicing via PayPal™ - button below). Donations can also be made directly through our website at schodackcamperships.org. All donations to SCI are 100% tax deductible.

Remember—your employer may offer a matching program to help maximize your contribution.
If you are interested in discussing, hosting and/or planning a future SCI charity fundraiser event in your area kindly contact us at schodack@gmail.com. Please also contact us if you, your employer, or someone you know is willing to donate exciting and enticing goods or services for future charitable raffles and auctions.

Don’t forget to check our web site and be certain to join our Facebook group (search:

We thank you in advance for your time and consideration. Wishing you the best during this holiday season and in the months ahead,
